The whole square sang and danced with the artist performing his world-known hits, like “Swalla”, “Jalebi Baby” and many more. As a surprise, Jason Derulo premiered his new song “Make Me Happy”, which is already number 1 trending on social media.

As part of the cooperation achieved, the Union will organize the World Congress on Innovation and Technology - WCIT 2024/DigiTec in the Sport and Concert Complex after Karen Demirchyan in Yerevan, within the framework of which the international technology exhibition DigiTec 2024 will also be held in the Meridian Expo Center.

The Winds of Armenia association aims to establish Armenia as one of the leading sailing centers and to promote the development of this sport in the country. Fastex plays a big role in the development of Armenia’s creative economy. Fastex occasionally comes up and encourages with social projects and has provided financial support to the "MetaGait: Cyber ​​FootBall'' competition organized by QaylTech during SSS24, to acquire MetaGait neurorehabilitation device, that allows disabled users to play and compete in the same environment.

During the event, Fastex stand also hosted Fastex and AKNEYE Meetups, uniting many other participants of the event from different companies.

Meri Mirijanyan, Head of payments at Fastex and Diana Partizpanyan, the Product Manager at Fastex, were the speakers during the 14th Fastex Meetup, held on July 24.

The speakers represented Fastex virtual and physical cards, that are now available and allow to carry out online and offline purchases from all over the world by topping up the card with cryptocurrencies. 

Also, they introduced the latest startup projects that have received grants from the Bahamut Foundation and are now successfully operating on Bahamut, among them Mutuari, Lolik and SilkSwap. 

Bahamut Foundation actively continues to support startup projects to build their business in Web3 reality, specifically on Bahamut blockchain. 

We were also happy to meet and talk with Albert Amirbekyan, the co-founder of ForestBerg startup business that received financial support from Fastex back in SSS19. Albert shared their success story and latest achievements with the participants.

ForestBerg specializes in providing diverse engineering services through geographic information technology (GIS) and remote sensing. The 10.000 FTN grant by Fastex was allocated to purchase a surveying drone and other equipment. 

Fastex stand hosted one more meetup by AKNEYE on July 25, in the format of panel discussion. Among the panelists were Armenian artists Gareggin and Sarko Meené and the Georgian artist Mako Lomadze.

The artists shared their journey with AKNEYE, the upcoming projects, and their ideas and experience at the AKNEYE Phygital Space in Venice.

Within the upcoming year, Yerevan will host the FIBA U20 EuroBasket, Division B, and the right to hold it has already been confirmed. The event will be held in Yerevan in 2025. Aside from this, CEV U18 Volleyball European Championship, European Karate Championship, Sports Dance World Cup Competition, as well as Ice Hockey World Championship Division D will be held.” 

“Ahead of the Olympic Games to be held in Paris, we want to emphasize and appreciate the work of not only our famous Armenian athletes, but also the work of their coaches and doctors who contribute to their success. 5 million $FTN have been segregated from the general circulation in the registry of digital transactions (blockchain) and securely frozen until 2030. The latters will be distributed based on the pre-defined conditions on smart contracts. This approach encourages the fair and transparent allocation of funds on beneficiaries’ digital wallets.

Fastex's AKNEYE project, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Martiros Saryan House-Museum, “SARER” Cultural NGO and the National Gallery of Armenia, held a wonderful event, during which the attendees told how a century ago, with the efforts of Martiros Saryan, Armenia participated in the 14th Venice Biennale: a display of 20 works by 6 Armenian artists. Olga Pevzner "recreated" the Armenian wall, and the paintings were exhibited in the hall in digital format, giving new life to the artworks.

Svetlana Sahakyan, Head of the Department for Modern Art of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Bella Isahakyan, Director of the Martiros Saryan House-Museum, Erna Revazova, Founder and President of the "SARER" Cultural NGO, Marina Hakobyan, Director of the National Gallery of Armenia and others delivered speeches. Sona Harutyunyan, Professor at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, guests from the Consulate and the team of organizers of the Biennale were present.

The Fastex CEO Vakhtang Ambrahamyan noted the company's willingness to always emphasize Armenian art and culture and support them with various projects.

During the Biennale, the AKNEYE Phygital Space positions itself as a non-competitive project, supporting the national Armenian pavilion. World-famous pianists Hélène Mercier-Arnault and Louis Lortie arrived in Armenia. The in-demand musicians’ repertoire includes works written for four hands and two pianos, from Mozart and Schubert to Debussy and Ravel.

The main topic of the meeting covered decentralized applications, cryptocurrencies, as well as the blockchain ecosystem and its basis. The first speaker of the meetup was Artyom Harutyunyan, the co-founder of "Web3 Development Fund". Daniel Danielyan, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, announced that this year an unprecedented phenomenon is taking place at the Venice Biennale, since Armenia is displayed in two pavilions: the official territory of the Republic of Armenia and the AKNEYE Phygital Space.

Art curator Anastasia Dawson noted that AKNEYE Phygital Spaces are a combination of traditional artistic approaches and modern technological solutions. The fusion of sculpture and NFT technology enables viewers to experience a new reality, merging the physical and digital worlds.

During the Biennale, the AKNEYE Phygital Space positions itself as a non-competitive project, supporting the national Armenian pavilion. The space exhibits the works of many Armenian and world-famous foreign creators, with the aim of promoting the proper representation and dissemination of Armenian culture abroad.

The Architecture Owner of the Bahamut blockchain Karen Terjanyan told the audience about Web1, Web2 and Web3 and their key features, referred to Bahamut’s consensus algorithm (PoSA) and mentioned the direction in which the industry is developing.

The new regulatory framework

Under the new licensing regime for VASPs, any person seeking to carry on a business of providing a “VA service” will be required to obtain a VASP licence from the Securities and Future Commission (SFC).

In this context, “VA service” is defined to mean operating a VA exchange: that is to say, providing services through means of electronic facilities through which service users will conduct binding transactions to purchase VAs offer to sell VAs in exchange for money or any other kind of VA and where, in providing such services, client money or client VAs will come into direct or indirect possession of the service provider.

Under the new licensing regime, the SFC will only grant a VASP licence to locally incorporated companies with a permanent place of business in Hong Kong SAR or non-Hong Kong companies registered in Hong Kong SAR. Each VASP applicant is required to have at least two responsible officers who will assume general responsibility of overseeing the operation of the licensed VASP.  Additionally, individuals may also apply to be licensed representatives to provide VA service on behalf of the licensed VASP.

In considering whether to grant a VASP licence, the SFC must be satisfied that the applicant, its responsible officers and licensed representatives are fit and proper persons. The SFC will consider factors such as the applicant’s financial status or solvency, education and qualifications, experience and reputation, character, reliability, financial integrity, and also whether there is any record of AML-related convictions.

On granting the VASP licence, SFC may also impose certain conditions. These may include requiring the VASP to have adequate financial resources, sufficient risk management policies and procedures, proper keeping of client assets, suitable VA listing and trading policies, proper financial reporting and disclosure, as well as mechanisms to prevent market manipulative and abusive activities and conflicts of interest.
